The completion of the sale of Chelsea Football Club before the end of the month of May have received a huge boost.

The PA News agency confirmed on its website that the Russian billionaire, Roman Abramovich and the UK government have reached a common ground as it concerns the sale of the club. According to reports, the lawyers of the former Chelsea owner and the UK government have reached a resolution as it concerns the £1.5 billion.
Abramovich had earlier released a statement on March 2nd, 2022 confirming that he will let go of the money he borrowed from the Stamford Bridge club. There have been concerns from some part of the government that Abramovich might benefit from the sale of the club.
The co-owner of Los Angeles Dodgers, Todd Boehly reached an agreement to buy Chelsea for £4.25bn on May 7th, 2022. Clearlake Capital will take the majority shareholding in the new Chelsea structure, with the California investment firm’s co-founder Behdad Eghbali due to work closely with Boehly on big financial decisions at the Blues.
